About Us
XSE Academy is a non- profit voluntary organisation providing training in multimedia.
Our Aims
The aims of the academy are to bridge the gap between high quality industry standard teaching and some wider social and employment opportunities. To provide opportunities to young people, to experience the possibilities that exist within the audio visual industries. To develop and provide training, experience and facilities for those with an interest in media and to provide a clear progression route for those young people who would like to pursue a career path into the industry or into further or higher education.
To develop and support individuals with projects that provide job and training opportunities, community cohesion, enhance artistic and creative experience for a range of people.
Since opening the doors in 2005 the organisation has offered digital music, video training and broadcasting opportunities to over 350 of young people each year.
How we work
Our work is and has always been focused on the growing needs of our clients.
We build and develop our programmes to meet the needs of our community, commercial industry and educational establishments. We are able to stay current and relevant by being involved in the industry and employing practitioners who are currently practising in their fields.
We use a range of approaches to meet the requirements of the current programme. We work with delivery partners employing a range of approaches from classroom based to practical projects delivered off site.

Schools
We work with schools offering support to enhance their GCSE and creative offer.
Youth clubs
We work with youth clubs providing a music offer to add to their holiday programmes. We also support staff and the organisation to develop facilities and training.
Colleges
We offer work experience placements as well as event support.
Universities
We offer work placements for final year students.
Informal and community groups
We work with groups to develop and deliver one off projects
Drug and alcohol agencies
Working with agencies offering specialist support workshops for multi agency approach.
Local authority
We have a close relationship working with the local authority delivering holiday programmes, events and training programmes.
